LEAP into Action!

Too busy to be healthy? Think again! Just 30 minutes of

moderate physical activity on five or more days of the week can significantly benefit your health. Still think you don’t have enough time? Well, the good news is you don’t have to do it all at once, why not break up your exercise into three 10 minute bouts? You don’t need to go over the top to be fit and healthy.

If you are looking for inspiration to a healthier lifestyle, you could do far worse than casting your eyes over Wandsworth’s Active Living Map. The colourful map, which folds up to fit into your pocket, gives you a taster of some of the interesting local walks and cycle routes that the borough has to offer.

If you’re popping to the shops or heading off to see a friend, put the car keys back on the coffee table, reach into your pocket, and pull out your map. Find where you are going and use the map grid to find out how long it will take you to walk or cycle. It might take you a little longer to get there but you’ll be much healthier for it, and you won’t have to worry about paying to park!

leapThe map will also show you where to go if you’re looking for somewhere to entertain the kids or walk the dog. Wandsworth’s parks are the ideal place for walkers and families. The map even shows you where the playgrounds and picnic areas can be found.

If you’re looking to tone up try one of the trim trails dotted around the borough. You’ll also be able to find other local active opportunities, like leisure centres, tennis courts, recreation centres and cycle shops.
