Sting Chips in to help local Church
Pop
Star donates guitar to raise funds to save historic building

International pop star and song writer Sting is lending his support to
the St. Peter's Challenge. This fund raising effort needs to find half
a million pounds by the end of the year to pay for renovations to the
historic Church on St. Peter's Square.
Stong has
donated his fender bass guitar to the St Peter's Challenge. You can bid
for it on ebay.co.uk from 24th November to get a piece of priceless pop
memorabilia and help this historic church.

The
Church is also holding a Christmas Fair on Saturday 29th November.

Between 11am and 4pm you'll find:Christmas gifts including antiques and
collectibles, glassware, Christmas wreaths and decorations, candles, soaps,
jewellery, CDs, bubble bath. There will be food and drink available such
as sizzling sausages, roasted chesnuts, toffee apples and cookies as well
food gift ideas to take away including hand made chocolates, preserves,
oils and vinegars and Christmas cakes.
Entertainment includes Santa and his helpers who will arrive by carriage at Mid Day to open his grotto. There will also be jugglers and stilt walkers.
It's festive, it's fun, it's local, it's convenient, much of it is beautifully home made and - it's all in a very good cause.
The Christmas Fair is part of The St Peter's Challenge which aims to raise £500,000 to save the roof of this historic building and vibrant centre of the local community. They've managed to raise over £461,000 so far. Just another £38,000 or so to go but it must be done by the end of the year.
