A group of 5 students at South Thames College have been on a six week course called 'Sexy Heels
in the City'. The course, delivered by tutor Chyna Whyne, teaches women how to walk in high
heels, improve their posture, walk lighter and improve confidence.
The Enrichment Team at South Thames College organise a variety of activities for students with
all kinds of interests, be it sports, science or beauty, encouraging students to take part in
activities that they will enjoy whilst building their confidence. 'Sexy heels in the city' was
an opportunity for the girls to improve their posture & confidence in a fun and light hearted
setting.
The students are studying on a range of college courses including Beauty, Hairdressing and
Performing Arts and joined the extra-curricular activity which attracts women from 16-60. At
the end of the 6 weeks, the course culminated in a spectacular show at Liverpool Street's
prestigious Broad Gate Tower, with the girls showing off their walking ability in a 'catwalk
style' performance.
High heel expert Chyna also teaches women feet exercises and the Alexander Technique, which she
originally took to help back pain caused by an injury. She said:
I was so impressed with the
benefits that I took three years out of my singing career to train as an Alexander teacher at
the renowned Walter Carrington Teaching Centre in London".
16 year old student Celina Mystery said:
"Since I started the course I've felt more confident in
my heels. I no longer get feet pain on a night out because I know what exercises to do before
hand. I'm happy I joined the course and now I can finally rock my heels."
