Residents of Putney & Wandsworth Town are invited to attend the Safer Neighbourhood Board Public Meeting in the Council Chamber at Wandsworth Town Hall at 6.30pm on Tuesday 5th December.
The theme of the public meeting will be knife crime with a focus on the ongoing work with young people. The agenda will be published on the council’s website a week prior to the meeting.
Key speakers will provide presentations on:
Knife crime statistics and issues in Wandsworth
The impact of knife crime on local families bereaved through knife crime
The ongoing work of the council’s gangs team to safeguard and tackle knife crime and gang activity
Street Doctors – a voluntary organisation who provide young people with the skills to deliver life-saving first-aid, and provide awareness around the dangers of carrying weapons
The continuing work around engaging young people and raising awareness of knife crime
Trident Gang Crime Command – a presentation on the Metropolitan Police unit and community action in Wandsworth to tackle crime
