Your own........
Samaritans rely purely on volunteer support and new volunteers are always needed. It is a challenging experience and it can be very rewarding knowing that you have made a difference.
The Putney branch of Samaritans are looking for people from all walks of life. If you would like to find out more about joining Putney Samaritans, the first step is to attend one of their Information Meetings, where you will have the opportunity to meet some of our volunteers, find out about the work of Samaritans, and in particular about how to apply to become a volunteer at Putney Branch.
If you then decide to apply, you will be invited to an interview followed by a selection day. Successful applicants are then invited to join their Training Course, which theyhold three times a year - in autumn, winter and spring.
They hold regular information meetings, and the times of the next meetings are:
Saturday 28 March 10.00 - 12.00 noon
Thursday 16 April 19.30 - 21.30
Saturday 30th May 10:00 – 12:00
You don't need to let them know in advance if you are coming - just come along on the day. Refreshments are served 15 minutes beforehand, and the session should last around 2 hours. All the meetings are held at the Putney premises. They do ask if you can be punctual.
