Retailer is looking for experienced managers for its stores
Local Sainsbury’s stores have joined together to organise a regional management recruitment campaign. The recruitment event will take place on Wednesday 23rd September 2pm-8pm and on Saturday 26th Sept 8am-2pm and will be held in the Sainsbury’s in Merton, Colliers Wood.
Regional operations manager, Colin Adesokan, said:
“We are looking for managers at a variety of levels; team leaders and department managers as well as deputy store managers. This is an exciting time to be working for Sainsbury’s and we hope that people will come along to find out how they can apply to be part of the Sainsbury’s family.”
Fifteen stores will be taking part in the recruitment drive and the 50 jobs will be equally spread across the stores. Sainsbury’s bosses hope that people from all walks of life will attend the event to hear about the great opportunities for progression within a diverse and successful company.
The recruitment day comes shortly after Sainsbury’s announced that it will create up to 20,000 seasonal jobs – the biggest number ever – across the UK to meet the high demand from shoppers over the Christmas and New Year period.
Of these 20,000 seasonal colleagues the supermarket expects that at least 1,000 will be retained in permanent positions. This is great news for the economy and is in addition to the 2,300 jobs that the supermarket recently announced it was creating in the north of England and Scotland by summer 2010.
