A family day out with more fun than usual on Sunday 19th September
Richmond Park Open Day, a great day out for the whole family, will take place this Sunday between 11am and 4pm at Holly Lodge in the centre of the park. Activities will include Shetland pony rides, pond dipping, kite flying, vintage bus tours, guided walks, and basket making!
The Richmond Park team, who manage the 2,500 acres of historic parkland, will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. A number of organisations that work closely with The Royal Parks will also have stands showcasing their work. There will be a wide range of activities on offer and, for the first time, there will be a photography and video display showing the view of St Paul’s cathedral from Richmond Park and there will also be a sculpture display by a local blacksmith.
Simon Richards, Park Manager of Richmond Park said: “Richmond Park Open Day is a great day out for the whole family and with rural crafts and outdoor activities on offer there really is something for everyone. This event offers visitors an excellent opportunity to find out more about this much loved park and to meet the people who work so hard to preserve and protect it.”
Entry and Parking: Admission is free of charge - but there is a £5 parking fee per car in the field outside Holly Lodge. There is no charge for blue badge holders and cyclists and facilities to park bicycles are provided.
