London Marathon Runners Line Up for the RHN

17 runners hoping to raise £50,000 for local charity

Yet again this year, many intrepid runners are braving the Flora London Marathon to raise valuable funds for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, a national medical charity that rehabilitates people with profound brain injuries and those with severe and complex neurological conditions.

In total, 17 runners are lining up on 22nd April, hoping to raise in the region of £50,000 for the hospital.

Once again the RHN will be represented by Lolo Leyanda, the hospital’s Catering Storekeeper who has worked there since 1972.  Lolo has previously completed 21 London Marathons – not to mention those he has run in Seville and Madrid, and over twenty half-marathons! – and has raised nearly £30,000 for the hospital since 2004.

Each of this year’s RHN runners has so far raised at least £2000, which will go towards purchasing essential  equipment and funding the hospital’s pioneering research, which is vital for caring for people with profound disabilities.
