Theatre West Four's exciting production at Questor’s Theatre
What?
Now in our 46th year, local am dram group, Theatre West Four is very excited about our forthcoming production, "Orton Games", a double bill of the play “The Erpingham Camp” and “Funeral Games”.
In The Erpingham Camp, Erpingham sees herself as a leader ruling over an empire not a holiday camp. Erpingham has no time for rowdy behaviour suspecting sexual debauchery at all times.
Erpingham is murdered in a riot fuelled not by religious frenzy but righteous indignation; whilst, in Funeral Games, Pringle runs 'The Brotherhood' sect. He employs Caulfield to investigate his wife, Tessa, who is having an affair with McCorquodale, a decrepit, defrocked priest. According to his religion it would be best if Pringle murders Tessa, although she will actually live with her patient, who has already killed his wife, Tessa's friend.
Who?
The playwright, Joe Orton has been receiving something of a revival in recent years with both his play “Entertaining Mr Sloane” and “Prick up your Ears” based on his life story. having been on in the West End recently.
