MP Visits Putney High School

Esther McVey is convinced of the importance of role models for girls

MP Esther McVey visited Putney High School to talk about careers. The MP for Wirral West, and former Girls’ Day School Trust pupil, has a background in law, business, TV production and presenting.

She is convinced of the importance of role models for girls and has produced a magazine “If Chloe Can” containing profiles of successful women in varied careers. She gave an inspiring and entertaining talk to Years 8 and 9. When one pupil said she wanted to be a fashion designer and was already producing bags, Esther commissioned one with a Westminster theme.
