The Pines care home residents enjoy a sing-along with local nursery children
Residents from The Pines care home were treated to some very special little visitors to their home in Wandsworth on Friday 11 November.
Children aged between 3-5 years from the Gardens Day Care and Nursery were guests of honour for the afternoon, entertaining residents with their renditions of bah bah black sheep and the wheels on the bus.
The event was organised by The Pines Activities Coordinator Shirleen Johnson who said, “We could tell the children worked really hard to learn their poems and it was so wonderful to see the residents singing along and having a great time. We love being part of the community In Wandsworth and we found the visit really helpful to reminisce with the residents about their own childhoods. We can’t wait for their next visit which we hope will be very soon!.”
The Gardens Day Care and Nursery were established in 1987 by Sarah Bokaie and has received Ofsted Outstanding rating every year since 2011. For more information visit their website here.
Sarah said, “When we were approached by The Pines to help spread some cheeriness to a local care home, we jumped at the chance! It is such a lovely idea to be able to brighten up someone’s day and we knew the kids would love it too. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!”
