raising funds for lkocal charity Prostrate Research Campaign UK
More than 100 men, women and children will be saying pants to pants when they don the silliest running shorts they can find for the Pants in the Park fun run in aid of Prostate Research Campaign UK to be held in Battersea Park on Father s Day, June 18 th this year..
It is hoped that the runners, all wearing outrageous underwear, will swell the funds of the Wandsworth based charity, which works to raise awareness into prostate disease. Prostate problems affect more than 50 per cent of all men in Britain at some time in their lives. Prostate Research Campaign UK is the only charity in the UK to raise money to provide patient information to and raise money for research into such diseases. This year for the first time, the charity has already offered more half-a-million £'s to researchers battling to beat prostate diseases.
In 2005, Pants in the Park ' s inaugural year, some 60 fun runners from all over Britain joined in the run and raised more than £5,000. This year, with live bands playing, face painting and super prizes for the funniest pants on display, it is hoped to double last year's efforts, so that future generations will be able to say knickers to prostate disease.
If you would like to join in the fun, or for further information on all prostate disease, please contact Prostate Research Campaign UK, 10 Northfields Prospect, Putney Bridge Road, London SW18 1PE or telephone 020 8877 5840 for your entry pack. Entry costs £5 per person or £15 for a team of 4.
