Get Mentoring & Coaching From The Voice Star's Backers

Two vocal workshops star in Adult Learners Week

The music organisation behind one of the biggest stars of the hit new BBC TV show The Voice, will be offering mentoring and coaching skills to budding hopefuls at two vocal training workshops being held in the borough later this month.

Igospel, which regularly runs singing and coaching workshops in Wandsworth, has worked for many years with Battersea's Jaz Ellington, who is currently wowing audiences of the popular TV show and is one of the favourites to win the competition.

Now singing coaches and teachers from Igospel, will be working with teenagers and young adults as part of Adult Learners Week in Wandsworth, which runs from May 12 to May 18.

They will be holding two coaching workshops later this month.

  • 6pm Tuesday, May 15, at the Methodist church hall, Minstead Gardens in Roehampton.
  • 6pm Wednesday, May 16, at the Professional Centre in Franciscan Road, Tooting.

Igospel's most recent project in Wandsworth took place in March at the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank. Choirs from Southfields Community College and St Cecilia's School, who had both been tutored and mentored by Jaz, delivered a spectacular performance that prompted former Pop Idol winner Will Young to join the young singers on stage where he encouraged them to "follow their dreams".

Now with the support of the council and Igospel, the aim is to help some singing stars of the future do precisely that.
