Are you available on 10th August?
Diverse TV are producing a new series for BBC1 and Children's BBC about politics and democracy entitled Election, to be presented by Jonathan Dimbleby and Angellica Bell.
They are looking for people to be constituent guests on the show.
The idea of the series is that ten children (aged 11 - 14) selected from all over Britain embark on an 'Apprentice- style' series of challenges that test their leadership skills. All the skills they learn will be based on those that today's world leaders rely on to be successful in politics.
At the end of the series, the two finalists will put forward their personal manifestos at a grand finale at the House of Commons where 100 kids from throughout Britain will vote on the winner. The BBC are very excited about this project and it's a fabulous opportunity to engage children in the political process in an entertaining and accessible way. The series is scheduled to go out on BBC1 (with repeats on CBBC) from October 2008 for ten consecutive weeks.
In the second episode the kids design a campaign launch for an issue of their choice. We are looking for local guests to visit the launch on Sun 10th August and vote on which team does the best job. The guests will be needed from 2-4pm at a location near Putney or South London.
