LBC’s Jim Davis joins the London Bikeathon for Leukaemia Research

LBC 97.3 FM presenter and Wandsworth resident Jim Davis will be joining thousands of other cyclists on Sunday 15th July when he takes part in The London Bikeathon in aid of Leukaemia Research.

The 52-mile route kicks off from the Royal Chelsea Hospital and takes in the biggest landmarks in the capital, including the London Eye, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, the O2 Dome and the Thames Barrier. The London Bikeathon is the flagship fundraising event for Leukaemia Research, which is hoping to raise over £500,000 for vital research into leukaemia and other disorders of the blood.

Jim Davis hosts “The Show That Could Change Your Life”, Britain’s first ever daily well-being and lifestyle radio programme, broadcasting live Monday – Friday, 1pm – 2pm on LBC 97.3 FM. The show offers a fresh, entertaining and informative look at a range of relevant and topical issues – for mind and body - including health, fitness, gym training, nutrition, positive thinking, motivation and self help.

Jim moved to Wandsworth from
Nottingham in February this year and lives near Wandsworth Bridge with TV presenter Natalie Pinkham. When Jim is not presenting his show, he can be found enjoying the sun (if it ever appears) in Wandsworth Park and on Wandsworh Common, jogging along the Thames path or enjoying a traditional Sunday roast in The Ship.

Jim said: “I'm looking forward to taking part in this year's London Bikethon, although in all honesty I'm feeling a little out of practice and possibly not up to full fitness yet. Nevertheless, I'll be training hard in the run up to the big day and hopefully will make it round the full length course in one piece! If we all cycled around London a bit more, we could do a lot of good for the environment and our own health. Leukaemia Research is such an important cause, I'm just glad I can do my bit to raise awareness and hopefully some cash at the same time.”
