Dr Louise Hide will explore the practices and processes, routines and rhythms of two London county asylums at the turn of the twentieth century. Drawing on numerous records held at the London Metropolitan Archives, as well as intriguing photographs from the period, Louise Hide will open a chink through which to glimpse the lives of patients, doctors and nursing staff inside two of the capital's asylums during the turn of the twentieth century.
