Big Weekend for West London Animal Centres

Putney RSPCA and Mayhew open their doors

Two of West London's best loved animal centres are opening their doors to the public this weekend.

On Saturday July 17, Putney Animal Hospital is holding its annual Summer Fair, with a range of stalls including bric a brac, pictures, jewellery, china, glass, toys books, plants, pet foods and Freedom Foods.

There is also a pet food and blanket appeal, a grand raffle and tombola and tea, coffee, snacks and homemade cakes will be served in the garden. Admission is free.

Doors are open from 11.30am till 3pm, and you can find Putney Animal Hospital at Clarendon Drive, between the Upper and Lower Richmond Roads.

On Sunday July 18, The Mayhew Animal Home is holding an Open Day with live music, a BBQ, gift stalls, games and activities for the whole family. Entertainment includes street acrobats and a performance by Britain's Got Talent semi-finalists Jackie Prescott and Tippytoes.

Visitors will also get the chance to meet some of our animals who are looking for new homes as well as a Mayhew dog show, introducing some of the dogs available for adoption.

Events co-ordinator Fran Llewillin says: " We have loads of fun activities going on and some fantastic areas for children including a bouncy castle, face painting, having photos taken with our littlest residents in the kitten garden and loads of other fun and games."

Doors are open from 11.30am until 4.30pm and tickets cost £2.50 for adults and £1.50 for children under 12 and senior citizens.

The Mayhew Animal Home is in Trenmar , off Harrow Road in NW10.
