Young people creating theatre for themselves and their community
A new 30 minute play written and devised by young people from the Katherine Low Settlement Drama Group which is based in Battersea, Wandsworth; and attracts young people aged 14 to 18 from the borough and its surrounding areas. The play is based on issues affecting their lives; the mixing of cultures, forbidden love and street crime. “Lets change it!”
“Aren’t we all the same? Made the same way, think, play and feel the same way. One Culture explores the ramifications of two peoples colliding and shows how communication, trust and honesty can bring people together. We all have the same needs, desires, wants and loves.”
Abandon Theatre’s has been working in partnership with the Katherine Low Settlement for some two years. Last year Abandon Theatre and the Katherine Low Settlement’s Young Carers Group produced a devised play called “Michelle” which was performed at the BAC as part of Wandsworth Arts Festival.
