Council remind parents of approaching deadline
There are only a few days left for parents to apply for a secondary school place next September. The deadline for applications to be received is Saturday, October 31.
This crucial closing date applies to children who were born between September 1, 2004 and August 31, 2005 and are now in their final year at primary school.
Parents can find out more about Wandsworth’s 11 state-funded secondary schools and helpful information on how to apply for a place by reading the council’s 'Choose a Wandsworth Secondary School' brochure.
The brochure and more information explaining the easy-to-follow process can also be found at www.wandsworth.gov.uk/admissions. This is the same web address that can be used to make an online application.
Copies of the brochure can also be obtained by emailing admissions@wandsworth.gov.uk or by telephoning (020) 8871 7316. Staff on that number can also help with any queries parents and carers may have
Parents of children living in the borough must apply online or submit a completed paper application form to Wandsworth Town Hall by Saturday’s deadline. Those living elsewhere must apply to their home borough by the same date.
People who apply on time will be told the outcome of their applications at the beginning of March 2016.
Those who apply online, using the secure and confidential pan-London admissions website, will receive helpful tips and prompts as they go through the process.
Applications can be edited and amended as often as parents choose right up to Saturday’s deadline and each time it is completed parents will receive an email notification confirming it has been properly received and registered.
