Local MP Justine Greening MP and Richard Tracey AM, Wandsworth's London Assembly Member, have held talks with Clare Kavanagh, Head of TfL Bus Planning about the bus services in Roehampton. This was their continuing response to complaints particularly from residents on Roehampton Lane, students at the University, and hospital patients about the crowded 72 & 265 buses. There is also a suggestion of a new lengthened route 22 to Queen Mary's Hospital.

Clare Kavanagh of TfL Buses said she understood the problems and was constantly reviewing the services. She reported that the 72 route now has 9 buses per hour during the morning peaks and she hoped that would help those travelling to work in Hammersmith and to catch trains at Barnes rail station. She also said that various recent roadworks including Hammersmith flyover had caused additional headaches and delays.

Richard Tracey asked if she would meet residents directly to talk about a new 22 routing and further improving the other services for Roehampton. She agreed to a meeting, probably in June.

Justine Greening said: "Roehampton residents rely on buses to get out and about but there have been real concerns with reliability and capacity on the routes.  TfL has agreed to look at how best to increase capacity in Roehampton and its great more buses have already introduced on the 72 route. I will keep working with residents and Richard Tracey to make sure our local bus services improve. "
