We are here specifically to address local, non-emergency issues that affect your quality of life. We are tasked with patrolling your ward, getting to know the people who live and work here and listening to the issues that are important to you. Please stop and speak to us if you see us on patrol or contact the team on the number or email in the box.
Burglary Prevention Advice
Burglars don’t like two locks
Fit two quality locks to your front door
Always double lock doors when you’re out or at night
Mark all your property with your postcode
Note the serial numbers of your property
Photograph your valuable items
Tips when you leave your home, even for short period,
Always lock all external doors and windows
Set your burglar alarm (if you have one)
When leaving for longer periods, use a timer or sensor to control lighting or a radio, so your home appears occupied.
Cancel milk and newspapers
Bogus Callers
Not all burglars break in. Some pretend to be officials or workers for, water, gas, electricity, phone or TV Companies etc.
Protect yourself by remembering
Stop – are you expecting anyone?
Chain the door before opening it
Check – ask for identification and phone the company they say they are from. If they are who they claim to be, they won’t mind waiting while you check.
Ask them to come back later.
If in doubt, keep them out.

Motor Vehicle Crime
We have increased our patrols following a rise in motor vehicle crime. Follow these tips and reduce your chance of becoming a victim.
Satellite Navigation equipment is popular with thieves, remove portable equipment and cradles when leaving your vehicle. Wipe suction pad marks from the windscreen or dashboard. Don’t leave equipment in the glove compartment; thieves check there first. Check you have locked your vehicle securely. Report anything suspicious immediately to the police. Use car parks recognised by the Police approved Safer Parking scheme. Look for the official ‘Park Mark’ sign. For details visit www.saferparking.com.
Please call us if you have any information regarding vehicle crime.
Fairfield Charity Pub Quiz & Raffle for Cancer Research UK
We held a Charity Pub Quiz at the Queen Adelaide Pub on Tuesday 02nd December and raised £478.42 for Cancer Research UK. This Brings Fairfield’s’ Charity efforts to a grand total of £3,447 for this year raising money for three charities; Wandsworth Age Concern, London South-West Alzheimer’s Society and now Cancer Research UK.
We were only able to run this event thanks to the close working partnership we have with both the Business Community and Residential Community of Fairfield Ward. Many thanks to you all!
To protect your mobile phone and other serial numbered property, visit the website www.immobilise.com and register your items for free. By registering your property you stand a much better chance of its return if it is lost or stolen. The IMEI number of your mobile phone is printed on a label usually found behind the phone’s battery. It is also stored electronically within the handset:
When you register any property the details are entered into the Immobilise database. This information is then available to all UK police officers that regularly search the database when goods are recovered. Not only have you a better chance of having your property returned but also it assists the police in getting a successful prosecution.
