Good Gym members at work
September 11, 2025
Ealing’s first Climate Week will take place from 20 to 28 September , with more than 40 events scheduled across the borough. Under the theme Better Living, the programme aims to highlight everyday actions that support environmental sustainability while addressing cost-of-living pressures and community wellbeing.
The initiative includes a mix of workshops, community gatherings, and outdoor activities, many of which focus on resource-sharing, energy efficiency, and low-cost lifestyle changes. Events are being delivered by Ealing Council in partnership with local charities, resident groups, and voluntary organisations.
Among the scheduled activities are:
In addition, local fitness groups GoodGym Ealing and We Run Ealing are organising a community run and walk, encouraging participants to donate unwanted running gear (excluding footwear) to Open Southall, which repurposes materials for creative projects.
Council Leader Peter Mason and Cabinet Member for Climate Action Paul Driscoll have both acknowledged the scale of community involvement in the programme, noting the role of volunteers, schools, and local businesses in shaping the event. While the council has promoted the week as an opportunity to improve health and reduce waste, the emphasis remains on practical, low-barrier participation.
Further details and updates are available via the council’s Do Something Good portal, where new events are being added throughout the month.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets. We've always done that and won't be changing, in fact we'd like to do more. However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them.
