Local councillor smashes his target during October

The leader of the Liberal Democrat group, the main opposition on Ealing Council, Gary Malcolm has successfully completed his fund-raising challenge for Shelter.
He chose to raise money for the charity saying that, especially now when many people are finding it hard to get the money for rent, its advice might help many people in need.
Tasked with completing 10,000 steps a day every day during October, the Southfield ward representative smashed the target which would have required him to take a minimum of 310,000 by exceeding 500,000.
He kept a calendar record of his daily steps which shows that on two occasions he went over 20,000 with a top day of 26.438.
Councillor Malcolm said, "It is wonderful to complete the challenge successfully and raise money for Shelter who provide a great help to many in need. It was very motivating but always tricky when the weather was rainy.”
He met his fundraising target of £200 but would still be grateful for more support. The link to donate money is here.
