Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservators (WPCC) have announced the results of the recent triennial elections for Conservators.

Voting closed on 6 March and the five candidates who were successful were David Brown, Susan Bucknall, Michael Johnston, William Liu and Mauro Mattiuzzo with David McClean losing out.

Of the 64,250 eligible voters, 10,265 took part which was a turn out of just 16.0% down from 20.4% at the last election in 2021. 58.7% of votes were cast online, a rise of 4 percentage from last time out.

Electors were able to select five of the six candidates standing. Susan Bucknall received the most votes with 7,150 followed by Michael Johnston, who received 6,381. Both of these candidates were sitting trustees standing for re-election.

The duly elected Conservators will commence their three-year term of office on Wednesday 3 April 2024

Electors are those persons who are on the local authority electoral role and who live within three-quarters of a mile of Wimbledon Common/Putney Heath or in the old Parish of Putney as it was in 1871.

Mr Nigel Ware, the Home Office appointed Conservator, acted as Returning Officer and Civica Election Services Limited served as Scrutineer.
