Three Winners From Putney

For the 2011 Wandsworth Design Awards

Our Lady of Pity and St Simon Stock RC Church, 16 Cambalt Road & The Studio were three of eight winners to emerge from the 2011 Wandsworth Design Awards.

The award-winners were announced by Wandsworth Council after judges scoured the borough for the best building projects of the past two years.

Our Lady of Pity and St Simon Stock RC Church, in Putney, won an Access Award after work was done to create better access for people with disabilities. Cambalt Rd for contemporary design project & The Studio for a contemporary architectural solution.

The council’s Design Award Scheme – the seventh of its kind since its inception in April 1999 – aims to give public recognition to recent local building projects which make a positive contribution to the environment and set a good example to other developments.

Nominations were invited from local amenity groups, businesses, architects, residents and people working in the borough who wanted to acknowledge schemes of high quality design and projects that improved access for people with disabilities.
