Royal Trinity Hospice Compassionate Neighbours programme is on the lookout for new volunteers.
It is particularly interested in finding people living in Southfields, Fulham and Battersea to join the social movement tackling social isolation experienced at end of life.
Volunteering as a Compassionate Neighbour helps people with a long-term illness or social isolation reconnect with their community, leading to fuller, happier lives.
The charity says that if you can spare an hour each week to talk to someone who is lonely you will be making a real difference in their life, and your own.
The next training and information session takes place on Tuesday 17 October. You will need to attend three sessions which are a mix of online and in-person at the charity’s base near Clapham Common.

Applicants will undergo a short interview and DBS checks.
Royal Trinity Hospice cares for around 2,500 people a year in its inpatient unit on Clapham Common and across the community in patients' homes, supporting them and those they love with a range of specialist support services, all provided for free.
