Intrepid trio create The Big Hospice Challenge to raise £20k
From 13 – 17 March, three fearless fundraisers took part in the challenge of a lifetime: 120 miles of cycling and 4 marathons, in just 5 days…
Bryony Collingwood, Darren Flick and Paul Joyce (photo above) have all been touched by the amazing work of London-based hospices, so they chose to create their very own extreme challenge - H2H6 (Hospice 2 Hospice 6) to raise much-needed funds for 6 hospices, including Trinity Hospice, Clapham.
Trinity’s specialist nurses supported Paul's father so he was able to spend his final days at home – where he wanted to be, surrounded by family. Trinity also provided expert end of life care for Paul's Nan when she passed away 18 years ago.
Enthused supporters, family, friends and fellow fitness-fanatics joined them for parts of the route which incorporated;
Day 1 – Marathon (26.2 miles)
Day 2 – Bike Ride (100 miles)
Day 3 – Marathon (26.2 miles)
Day 4 – 2 x Half Marathons (26.2 miles), & Bike Ride (20 miles)
Day 5 – Marathon (26.2 miles)
The challenge finished at Trinity, where Bryony, Darren and Paul rewarded themselves with an ice bath and celebrated with supporters in Trinity’s award-winning gardens.

Anna MacLeod, Head of Fundraising at Trinity, said
“We are so grateful to Bryony, Darren and Paul for taking on such a tough challenge to raise awareness of hospice care and support not just one but six very worthy causes! The money raised will help us to continue to offer our services to terminally ill people and those close to them, completely free of charge – thank you.”
So far they have raised an incredible £18,000 – to support their hugely impressive challenge and help them reach their target of £20,000 please visit www.justgiving.com/h2h6challenge
