New doctor's surgery could be built on recreation grounds
Proposals first made a number of years to build a doctor’s surgery on the Southfield Recreational Grounds were raised again at the Southfield Ward Forum Meeting.
The plans, which also included knocking down two disused buildings which would then be grassed over yielding new green space, were put off due to lack of available funding from the Heath Authority.
Local Lib Dem councillor Jon Ball said, “I support these proposals and have gained a commitment from the Council Leader that only a GP surgery and changing rooms could be built on the Recreational Grounds as well as giving the Council first refusal to buy back the land if needed which would stop any inappropriate development.”
Ealing Council would have to consult residents before any firm plans could be agreed.
