Footage of a call out for the Chiswick RNLI crew
The Chiswick based RNLI Lifeboat was on patrol by Barnes Rail Bridge when they received a call from the coastguard asking them to proceed to Putney.
A car had been parked on the embankment and been caught by the rising river tide.
Chiswick is one of four RNLI lifeboat stations on the Thames which became operational in 2002.
Launch statistics from 2010 show that Chiswick is the second busiest RNLI lifeboat station after Tower.
