The “Wandsworth Report It” app offers a quick and easy way for residents to request a clean up or a repair. It is available for Android, Windows and iOS devices and can be downloaded from the Apple, Android or Windows app store, or via the council’s website.

Using the app to report problems via a smartphone or tablet couldn’t be simpler. If you spot a problem you can take a photo of it and the app automatically logs its location. You can then add some comments or a description and once submitted it is passed straight to the town hall for action.

Most people use the app to report flytips and in the last year the number of reports has grown substantially.

Figures published by Defra yesterday (Thursday) show that the app can play an important role in helping the council keep Wandsworth’s streets clean.

According to Defra, there were more than 366,000 reported incidents of flytipping across London last year, with Wandsworth accounting for less than 1.2 per cent of the total.

Residents and business can use the app to report the following issues:

Flytipping / Graffiti / Missed rubbish or recycling collection

Request a street clean / Hazardous waste / Flyposting

Overgrown trees / Damaged paving / Overflowing or damaged litter bins

Broken street lights (non TfL roads) / Request recycling sacks
