Greg Hands MP for Chelsea and Fulham at Putney High School

Putney High School welcomed the new Minister of State for International Trade, Greg Hands MP, for a Putney Ideas Exchange talk.

Mr Hands, who is MP for Chelsea and Fulham, spoke about his move from the finance industry into politics culminating in his new position in the Department of International Trade, which was born through the recent turmoil of BREXIT. Putney pupils asked questions on a wide range of topics from the importance of studying modern languages to the huge political events over the summer. He candidly answered questions on more controversial issues such as immigration and Donald Trump!

Putney High School’s Gifted and Talented Coordinator Pippa Wadey, who organised the Putney Ideas Exchange talk, said:
“Putney Ideas Exchange exposes the students to individuals and organisations that they otherwise wouldn’t have access to; it provides them with the opportunity to extend their thinking, challenge ideas and drive their own career decisions forwards. Our speakers help shape their futures.”
