Residents are being given an extra week to renew
Hounslow residents whose parking permits ran out at the end of last month are being given an extra week to renew them in light of recent disruption to postal services.
Those who have permits that expired on 30 September will be given three weeks, instead of the usual two, to renew their permits.
Cllr Paul Fisher, lead member for parking at the council, said, "We normally give a couple of weeks grace to people renewing their parking permits to allow for the unforeseen delays that come about from leading busy lives.
"Given the recent problems with the postal services, it's only fair we take this into account so we don't penalise people when they've done everything they can to renew.
"We've sent out text reminders to those who have given us their mobile number, as well as the usual reminders in the post, so hopefully everyone who needs to renew their permit will be able to with the extra time."
