Commuters Struggle As Signalling Fault Hits Striking Train Route

Commuters on Wednesday were already struggling with the strike action on South Western Railway had their journeys and frustration compounded by a major signaling fault that affected services on the South Western Main Line to Waterloo.

Network Rail engineers corrected the problem just after 11am but disruption continued into the afternoon.

One Putney commuter on Wednesday morning, Ben Christie' told this website: " I have been at the station over 30 minutes, one train was cancelled the next was so packed no one could get on - just have to wait and be late!"

Network Rail apologised for the disruption and thanked passengers for their continued patience.
