Wandsworth Prison Inmate Charged With Murder

Following discovery of dead prisoner on Bank Holiday Monday

46 year old Tarsa Nykolyn, an inmate in HMP Wandsworth, has been charged with the murder of 56 year old Wadid Barsoum, also an inmate in Wandsworth Prison, on Monday 4 May.

Nykolyn will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 6 May.

The police were called at 7.35am on Monday 4 May, to reports of a male prisoner deceased in a cell.

The murder investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Reeves of the Homicide and Major Crime Command. Enquiries continue.
