A relaunch of the main café at Gunnersbury Park could be on the cards with a new operator seeking to get a premises licence.

When the building was burnt down in May 2020 it was never expected that it would take this long to reopen and the reasons for the delay are unclear.

Now a company called Pure in Gunnersbury Park Ltd has applied for permission to stay open every day from 7am to 11pm with last orders at 10:30pm.

The sole director of this company is Ilan Breger who is also on the board of Pure Foods of London Ltd, established in 2001, is a small company based in Greenford, which operates the 'Pure' chain of healthy food-to-go shops across London, offering salads, sandwiches, hot food, juices, snacks, and coffee. Mr Breger says that the cafe will operated independently of Pure Foods of London.

Mr Breger says that it is not intended for the venue to typically operate for the full extent of the licensed hours applied for and that there would only be very occasional evening events. Assuming that the licence is granted he is hopefully for an opening early in the summer.

The new café, which reproduced the design of the earlier destroyed building, was completed in July of last year by Borras Construction working with partners Rodney Melville & Partners and Walker Associates

The structure was dismantled and removed down to ground level as preparation for the works to rebuild the Café with surviving foundation, retained and reused.

There is another café in the park next to the Putt in the Park course as well as a number of vendors around the Large Mansion building. It is not known if the latter will be allowed to continue trading if the café reopens.
