Wandworth Enterprise Week offered help and support to people considering setting up a business in the borough, as well as giving established businesses and existing start-ups support to grow.
Virgin StartUp, NatWest, Prince’s Trust, the Design Trust, Google, Newable, Business Today magazine, the Intellectual Property Office, Seedrs, New Covent Garden Market, Young Enterprise, Workspace, Blue Dot Consulting and Hodders Law all went along to share their expertise and give advice.
Ethical children’s wear company Little Lights of the World beat 20 other fledgling companies invited to pitch in the dragons’ den. The dragons were Ian Mason, Head of development at Virgin StartUp, the council’s business spokesman Cllr Kim Caddy, Clive Lewis, Head of Enterprise, ICAEW, Nick Howe, Regional Manager at NatWest and Holly Anna Scarsella from Pampelone Clothing.
The winner has won a package of help including a feature on the Virgin StartUp website, free accountancy services from The Tax Guys, mentoring and more.
The week came to a close with the Young Enterprise Trade Fair. This event saw student companies selling their products, to members of the public at Southside Shopping Centre. The award for Best Product went to Cushion Co from Putney High School for their heated cushions.
