Police Still Hunting For Murderer & Burglar


The two men absconded from Tooting medical facility

Police are still appealing for information after two men absconded from a medical facility in Tooting.

44 year old John Slavin and 28 year old John Claydon absconded from Springfield Hospital, Glenburnie Road, SW17 at around 10.20pm on 18th November.

Officers have received a number of unconfirmed sightings which are currently being investigated.

Slavin is white, approx. 6ft 3in tall and of thin build. He was wearing a black jumper, black coat, blue jeans, brown shoes & black beanie hat. He also had a goatee beard. His hair is short and dark. He has tattoos on his left arm and hand - details unknown.

He is known to associate in the Kensington and Chelsea and Aberdeen areas.

Slavin is on remand to Southwark Crown Court charged with aggravated burglary. Claydon is charged with a murder in Bath on 27.4.08.

Claydon is white, approx. 5ft 11in tall and of medium build. The clothing he wore ate time of his escape it currently unknown. His hair is dark brown in a cropped style. He has several scars including a 1/2 inch scar to his top lip, a 1/2 inch scar to his forehead (eyebrow area), a scar to the bridge of his nose and a scar to the rear of his head. Claydon has a gold tooth to the left in his top set of presentation teeth.

He is originally from the Bristol area. Both men were being assessed at the hospital for mental health conditions.
