School project scam results in distress
A particularly nasty scam has been reported where an elderly resident in sheltered housing has been approached by schoolchildren, allegedly doing a school project about the war.
They asked to borrow the victim's war medals for the project, promising to return them. Needless to say, they have not been returned, and have therefore been stolen. Obviously this has caused a great deal of distress to the loser.
A spokesperson for Wandsworth Community Safety Division has asked that residents warn anyone in your area who might become a victim of this.
