Reflecting the on-going commitment "to bring each and every offender to justice"
On 10th November 2011, Wandsworth Police passed a landmark with its 100th person charged in connection with the disorder that caused such devastation to Clapham Junction and across the borough in August 2011.
Officers across Wandsworth are dedicated to bringing all offenders to justice and their efforts have been rewarded with co-operation and support from the local community.
Without public support identifying rioters and looters this achievement would not have come so quickly.
Wandsworth Police appeal to the local community to continue to help identify images being circulated through local press and online until all suspects are arrested. To date of the 450-500 Wandsworth suspects, 174 have been arrested, 100 charged and a further 300 sought.
A/DS Stansfield said:
‘Almost three months to the day since the riots happened, Wandsworth Police have charged their 100th suspect. This reflects the on-going commitment of Wandsworth Police working with the community to bring each and every offender to justice.‘
