Resulting in two arrests & four warnings

Recently officers from the Putney Sector together with Met Police passive drugs dogs and British Transport police conducted an Operation at East Putney Underground Station targeting criminals using the Public transport system and to provide re-assurance to commuters.

The operation resulted in 2 arrests for possession of Class A Drugs and 4 street warnings for Cannabis Possession as well as a number of other stop checks of known individuals. The initiative provided a visible and re-assuring presence during the busy rush hour period.

A number of members of the public approached officers and thanked them for their work and expressed delight at seeing officers at the location. PS Chapple said:
“This is an excellent example of partnership approach to crime reduction and providing reassurance to the general public. The drugs dogs were an invaluable tool in assisting the officers to detect offences and we shall be running similar operations in the near future.”
