Moped crimes back on the crime reports


plus be aware of con "coppers"....

On the 24th & 25th there were two more reports of moped muggings both on the Upper Richmond Road in East Putney.  On the 24th April at 16.20 hrs a thief on a moped pushed victim and stole her handbag. The next day at 21.45 hrs two males on a moped, one in dark clothing and a dark helmet, rode onto footpath, pushed victim to the ground and stole her handbag.

On a least two occasions recently a man posing as a water board official has tried to get into flats at Lockyer House, The Platt, SW15. Luckily he was refused entry both times. It is believed he made off in a white Bedford van with blue stickers on the sides and with a yellow flashing light on the roof. If you have any information please pass it to your local police, contact details in the briefing.

Wandsworth Police have informed us that
on Wednesday, 26 April 2006, a police constable (male) and a PCSO (female) from Putney Safer Neighbourhoods Team were patrolling their sector, talking to vulnerable residents about their general welfare, safety campaigns and how to contact the police and support agencies with any concerns they may have, and that the report of bous officers reported earlier is not true.
