Council Backs 'Circle' A Safety App

New personal safety app launched to keep Londoners connected

Wandsworth Council is encouraging local people to download ‘Circle’, a free personal safety app launched by London Councils to help Londoners stay connected.

Created in consultation with a group of women’s charities, the app offers an easy way to stay in touch with your circle of friends while out and about around the city.

With just one click, users can get in contact with their circle and let them know that they are safe.

The app features several helpful functions, including personal ‘Safety Spots’, a ‘Location Request’ to see where your friends are on a map, as well as ‘Interrupt Me’, and ‘Collect me’ functions, allowing users to quickly let their friends know if they need a little help.

Other useful resources, such as emergency contact numbers and directions to your closest Safety Spot, are also featured in the handy app.

You can add friends from your contact list, and send messages at the touch of a button.

Community safety spokesperson Councillor Jonathan Cook said:
“London has so many exciting experiences to offer, we should all be able to get out and enjoy them with confidence. Circle is a brilliant way to stay connected with friends for that extra peace of mind, while enjoying this great city.

“Wandsworth prides itself on being the safest borough in inner London, and we want our residents to be able to feel secure wherever they are in the capital.”
