A school in Southfields had to be evacuated today (2 March) after it was initially believed that a WWII bomb had been discovered in the playground
Police were called just before 11am to Donald Ross Primary School playground in Castlecombe Drive, Southfields.
The police informed this website that, 'cordons and road closures were put in place, and the school was evacuated as a precaution. Specialist officers have now deemed the object safe - it was an electrical device, not an ordnance.'
