A Real Life Advent Calendar in Barnes

Every day a new 'window' is opened on Elm Grove Road

Take a walk down Elm Grove Road in Barnes this month and you'll see a 'real' advent calendar. Participating houses are creating an advent window display to be ‘opened’ - one for every day to 24th December. Each day a different decorated window will be revealed and reference the number for that particular day.

A dedicated faceboook page www.facebook.com/Barnesadventwindows has been set up and pictures of the windows are shared there too.

Sanchi Murison, who is co-ordinating the event, said:
'I thought it would be a good community initiative and am thrilled that so many people are taking part. The intention is to benefit the wider community too, and it is hoped that participating houses and other neighbours will make an optional donation. Money will be shared between Home-Start UK and FiSH, two charities which have an important role especially at this time of year".
