This year will see the introduction of a formal repertory model for stage productions
February 20, 2026
The 2026 Walled Garden Summer Season at Boston Manor Park is offering an eclectic programme including theatre, comic opera and a series of one-night only concerts.
It represents a significant expansion for the Arts Centre Hounslow, which has curated this open-air programme for three years. Following a 2025 season that attracted nearly four thousand attendees and supported twenty-eight new jobs, the upcoming schedule has been increased to fifty-six individual performances and events. This growth is part of a deliberate, sustainable strategy led by Artistic Director Jonathan Ashby-Rock, who began the project in 2023 with only a handful of events.
The cornerstone of the 2026 programme is the introduction of a formal repertory model. Under this system, the Walled Garden Rep Company will perform three distinct productions in rotation across a seven-week period, all utilising a single cohesive set and ensemble.
The daytime schedule features a family-focused staging of The Wind in the Willows, described as a riverside adventure designed to introduce younger audiences to theatrical storytelling.
Evening slots will be occupied by She Stoops to Conquer, a fast-paced comedy of manners by Oliver Goldsmith that follows the success of previous outdoor classical productions. The repertory offer is completed by a staged concert version of Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic operetta, The Pirates of Penzance, which emphasizes large ensemble musical numbers and sharp wit.
The season begins on Tuesday 14 July with the opening of The Wind in the Willows. This music-filled family show continues to run on various dates throughout the summer until its final performance on Friday 21 August.
The visiting programme for July includes two major musical events. The Carpenters Experience, a tribute to the music of the legendary duo, is scheduled for Thursday 16 July. This is followed by Dreamcoat Stars on Saturday 18 July, which features leading vocalists from the West End performing a range of musical theatre hits.
As the programme moves into August, the repertory company introduces evening performances of the comedy She Stoops to Conquer. This production begins on Tuesday 4 August and continues until Sunday 23 August. Within this period, the international touring production of The Simon and Garfunkel Story will take place for one night on Monday 10 August.
The final week of the theatrical season features a staged concert version of The Pirates of Penzance. These performances are scheduled from Monday 24 August to Wednesday 26 August.
The season concludes with the Boston Manor Beer Festival held over the bank holiday weekend on Saturday 29 August and Sunday 30 August. The festival showcases independent breweries and local food vendors alongside a lineup of live music.
Additional events including comedy nights and further musical performances are expected to be added to the schedule in the coming months. All tickets are currently available through the official season website.
Momentum for the 2026 season is already evident, with nearly one thousand tickets sold already, a significantly earlier start than in previous years.
