Brentford last night won 3-0 at the Valley with a very impressive performance - described by Uwe Rosler afterwards as "nearly perfect".

Charlton - top of League One - had admittedly rested some players but were outfought and out-thought by Rosler's gallant Bees.

Uwe himself rested Lee, Donaldson and Douglas whilst Karleigh Osborne was absent through injury and Niall McGinn away with Northern Ireland.

The Bees raced into a 1-0 win when the returning Diagouraga fed David Clarkson who saw his shot well stopped by keeper Sullivan before Blair Adams rammed home the rebound.

Brentford shrugged off the windy and wet conditions as they continued to dominate the match - SuperKev netting our second from the penalty spot after Dave was tripped clumsily by Alonso.

Myles Weston almost added a third prior to half-time with a powered header from Thompson's clipped cross - shortly after Simon Moore had made a smart save from a Charlton free-kick.

Charlton came out looking more determined after half time but rarely threatened the goal before Clarkson was denied a one-on-one after a dreadful decision by the linesman.

The Bees got their just desserts shortly afterwards however when man of the match Diagouraga added a third.

Brentford had other chances too - notably a Bean header and a narrowly wide Wood shot after a lovely Saunders pass - whilst Simon Moore made a good flying save to keep a creditable clean sheet.

All in all it was an excellent TEAM performance - lots of hard work and some neat quick passing. It was great to have Dave back - he seemed to relish an advanced role with Kev anchoring the midfield.

Clarkson put in a better shift tonight too - some tireless running and crisp clean passing kept our attacks ticking over - whilst young Adam Thompson read the game incredibly well to make some timely challenges.

Uwe will no doubt be delighted with the response from the team to Saturday's home drubbing by Huddersfield.

The win means that Brentford are in the hat for the JPT Southern quarter-final.

Bees - Moore, Thompson (Saunders), Llera, Eger, Woodman, Bean, Diagouraga, Adams (Wood), Kev, Clarkson (Grella), Weston

      Unused Bees - Lee, Spillane
