End of Unbeaten Run for Forster

Hartlepool 3 - Brentford 0

Nicky Forster's first game in permanent charge ends in ignominious defeat as the Bees go down 3-0 to Hartlepool.

Following six unbeaten games Nicky Forster was awarded the manager's job until the end of the season but found that sod's law seems to relate to football management too.

Forster made one change to the starting line up replacing Charlie MacDonald [who didn't appear on the bench, so is likely to be suffering from a injury] with Robbie Simpson.

Andy Monkhouse scored two for Hartlepool, one in each half and Gary Liddel scored a third to make the scoreline look grim.

The game started fairly evenly but Hartlepool were able to rack up the pressure and were awarded their first goal after a goalmouth melée led to a Lee save followed by Monkhouse hitting the crossbar and the ref adjudging the ball had crossed the line.

In the second half Monkhouse scored again on the break from a Brentford attack.

Before the hour mark Forster rang the changes replacing Bean with Legge [moving Neilson to right back and Kev into the middle] and replacing Simpson with Reed. 15 minutes later he replaced Weston with Grabban but to no avail as Liddle put an end to any hope of a comeback.

We'll put this one down to a bad day at the office and move on to table-topping Brighton at GP on Tuesday. Bring your own pancakes!

Well done to the 139 bees fans who made it up north in what was a sub 3,000 crowd.
