Brentford win the JPT Southern area final to book a place at Wembley against Huddersfield or more likely Carlisle.

A confident performance from Brentford and two lovely crosses from Myles Weston midway through the first half saw the Bees take control of this tie.

Weston, man of the match once more, terrorised the Exeter defence early on along with Mac, Alexander and the busy Sam Saunders.

On 20 minutes Weston crossed for Saunders to give Brentford a well deserved lead and six minutes later he did the same for Alexander to make it 2-0. The Bees kept the pressure up and kept Exeter to very few chances.

In the second half Weston could have bagged one himself when he ran the length of the field and crashed the ball at Hamer in the Exeter goal - with MacDonald just ten yards inside him, screaming for the ball, a better option - the chance to wrap up the match was wasted.

Deep into injury time Exeter pulled one back from Nardiello but the home side had already lost the game by then and I'm sure it wasn't even consolation for them as they missed out on a Wembley final.

The one downside is that MacDonald was stretchered off with about 12 minutes remaining with what may have been an achilles injury. Let's hope it's not too serious as he deserves his run out at Wembley.

Well done Bees, well done Nicky and well done the 420 Brentford fans who made the journey.
