Brentford beat Plymouth 2-0 this afternoon in Nicky Forster's first game in charge as caretaker boss.
The shape of the team seemed much better today - Kev moved to right back and Weston and Saunders lined up on the wings - with Myles scoring both Brentford goals.
In truth Plymouth could have taken the lead - they rattled the bar after about half an hour - but Brentford were the better team over the 90 minutes.
Our first goal came in the 35th minute, Weston getting across his man to head home an excellent Saunders cross at the far post.
Brentford's second goal was superb, Charlie MacDonald latched on to a lofted through ball and controlled the ball deftly before passing the ball to Weston who cut inside and smashed home into the far top corner.
The Bees had other chances too - and actually looked dangerous from set pieces for a change. Monday's JPT game at Exeter now looks a far more appetising prospect.
There were apparently four out of work managers in the stands today - including Martin Allen and Sam Allardyce (!?). They will all have been quietly encouraged by the team's performance.
Bees - Lee, Kev, Legge, Osborne, Weston, Saunders (Grabban), OTJ (Bean), Dave, Weston, Alexander (Bignall), Macdonald.
Unused Bees - Moore, Spillane, Pim, Wright.
