A Different Way to Experience an IB Education

For many families, finding the right school for the final two years before university is about more than academic results. It's about choosing a programme that prepares students for higher education whilst helping them develop the skills they'll use throughout their lives.

From September, the International School of London will offer the IB Career-related Programme (CP) in Enterprise & Entrepreneurship, combining the academic rigour of an IB education with practical, career-focused learning.

Designed for students aged 16–19, the CP brings together two to four IB Diploma Programme subjects, a Pearson Level 3 BTEC Nationals Diploma in Enterprise & Entrepreneurship, and the IB CP Core, which includes Personal and Professional Skills, Language Development, Community Engagement and a Reflective Project.

Together, these elements help students build critical thinking, communication, collaboration and intercultural understanding while applying their learning to real-world contexts.

An internationally recognised pathway

The IB Career-related Programme is recognised by universities in the UK and around the world. While entry requirements vary between institutions and courses, the CP provides a strong foundation for higher education, particularly for students who want to combine academic study with practical experience.

Alongside subject knowledge, students develop transferable skills that universities and employers increasingly value, including problem-solving, project management, independent research and the confidence to work across cultures.

Learning through real experiences

At ISL, learning extends beyond the classroom.

Students following the Enterprise & Entrepreneurship pathway will have opportunities to gain practical experience through our partnership with Brentford FC Community Trust, exploring how innovation, teamwork and entrepreneurial thinking are applied within a leading professional football organisation.

These experiences help students connect what they learn in school with the wider world, preparing them for university, future careers and life in an international environment.

A personalised pathway

The Career-related Programme reflects ISL's commitment to personalised learning. It offers an alternative pathway for students who want the challenge of an IB education alongside opportunities to explore enterprise, creativity and applied learning.

For internationally mobile families, it provides the continuity of an IB education while supporting students to develop the adaptability, confidence and intercultural understanding needed to thrive in a changing world.

Applications for the IB Career-related Programme in Enterprise & Entrepreneurship are now open. If you're considering a move to London or looking for the right pathway for your 16 year old, we'd be delighted to tell you more.
